Thirty Talks the best backed in
Racing Queensland wagering partner UBET reports the Tony Brett-trained Group 1 winner, Thirty Talks, has been the best backed runner to win Thursday's Group 3 Gold Coast Cup at Albion Park.

UBET spokesman Gerard Daffy said he expected more punters to step in closer to the event.

"Probably because it's one of the most open feature events we have ever seen at Albion Park," he said.

"But there is a steady stream of money for the ever popular Thirty Talks at $5."

Daffy said there had been interest in last-start winner Cosmic Bonus ($4.20) and even rank outside Not Like Tommy, which is $41 into $34.

The team at Puntersland has cast its watchful eye over the race.

The 10-race program will also feature the Eric Thompson Memorial Maiden Final, as well as the return of Group 1 Garrard’s Winter Cup winner, Fast Times (Race 7).

Gold Coast Cup
Group 2 Queensland Derby winner Cosmic Bonus (2) found the front early and was never headed when winning his heat in 29.73 seconds. If he begins as well as he did last start, it will be very hard for dogs drawn outside of him to cross. He is a big time player in the final.

Alota Amy (1) will be going for four wins in a row when she lines up in Thursday’s final. She ran down Joyce Rumble after being checked to win her heat in 29.73 seconds. From box one she will find the rail and is sure to finish strong.

The Thirty Talks (7) we all know and love appears to have bounced back to somewhere near his best, having won four of his past five starts. He was beaten to the first turn by Cosmic Bonus in their heat but did finish off well for second. He will be able to build momentum out wide and has won five of six from box seven.

Gunnadoo Rev (3) is a strong dog that looks to be the value runner in the final. He put in a solid effort to finish third in his heat but was having his first run following the Nationals Sprint final in August so should be fitter here. He has a terrific record from box three, with five wins from six starts.
