Racing Queensland confirms that following the recent flooding in North Queensland which caused damage to the Townsville TC racing venue at Cluden Park, the club’s race meeting scheduled for Saturday 2 March has been transferred to Bowen Turf Club.
The Bowen TC venue has been certified as suitable for the facilitating of TAB race meetings by RQ and QRIC officials.
Accordingly, the race meeting will be run with TAB status with the seven race program comprising the following:
The winner of this race, if QTIS registered, will accrue double first-place prizemoney of $18,400 (plus QTIS bonuses) and be granted ballot exempt free status for the 2019 QTIS 2yo Jewel 1200m at Gold Coast TC on 16 March 2019
The starting limit for all races on the program will be 12 horses and nomination/weight declaration/acceptance/rider declaration deadlines will remain as have been previously prescribed for the race meeting.

It is envisaged that this will take place within 48 hours of this dispatch and the appropriate communications disseminated to industry immediately thereafter.
Cognisant of the ongoing impact the Townsville TC outage may potentially have on participants, RQ will also adopt an aggressive approach to the division of races at these race meetings should acceptance numbers deem it appropriate.
